CarbonArmor and some new CrackPointing in mars
Challenge
Tim and Jodi called Keystone Basement Systems after talking to a friend of theirs that had used us on some waterproofing they needed. Tim and Jodi noticed that they had some cold air coming through and that the walls were a little cracked looking and a tad bit damp feeling. Keystone Basement Systems sent out one of their best field inspectors to sit down with them and discuss the issue before going out and inspecting it for himself. He does this to come up with a plan on how to fix it and help the homeowner have a better understanding of what the issue is, how it can be fixed, and what would happen if it wasn't fixed .After the field inspector completed his evaluation he came up with the plan of using 4 CarbonArmor Straps. The CarbonArmor® System includes flexible carbon fiber fabric straps that are up to 10 times stronger in tension than steel. Using high strength epoxy resin, the carbon fiber straps are bonded to the interior face of the wall. The straps will stabilize the wall. This system requires no exterior excavation, installs quickly, and won't impact future basement finishing. He also was going to CrackPoint the basement as it had been done before but not in many years and not professionally. Keystone was confident in the fact that this plan needed to happen in order for CrackPointing to not have to become a regular thing because that would be just a band aid for the issue at hand.
Solution
Keystones field inspector then relayed the plan for this project onto their amazing install crew. The foreman and his crew installed the 4 new CarbonArmor straps and did the CrackPointing and got this structure safe again, which made the homeowner very happy., so happy he has referred us to a few people now.
