Internal French Drain
Challenge
Jon called Keystone Basement Systems after finding them online, he was searching for a reputable waterproofing company that could help with the pooling water in his basement. Keystone quickly scheduled an appointment for the next day to have a field inspector come out and look at the problem area. The field inspector showed up right on time and first sat down with Jon to discuss the issue at hand, this was done to ensure the field inspector had a good understanding of the homeowners' concerns as well as being able to answer any of their questions they had up to this point. The field inspector then learned that Jon was worried about the items that he was storing in his basement, due to the fact that at times the pooling could be up to a 1/2 inch deep. Keystone's field inspector knew he had to come up with a plan and do it quickly. The field inspector then went down to the basement to perform his very detailed inspection of the problem area. The field inspector conducted all the necessary moisture tests and very accurate measurements to ensure he was coming up with the most accurate plan possible. The field inspector then went back upstairs to have yet another conversation with Jon, going over the results of the tests and his solution to the problem, better known as the plan. This was done so that Jon could have a better understanding of the issue at hand as well as knowledge of what could happen if this project was not done, and last but not least what the plan in fact was to get his house dry again. The plan involved installing an internal drainage system with a service port, or aka clean-out. The plan also involved doing a wall spray with an anti-microbial spray. The spray will help to prevent any further molding that would have happened if not treated, as well as kill the mold that was present.
Solution
After making sure the field inspector went over everything with the homeowner and he understood the process of the plan, he then returned to the office and scheduled this project for installation. Upon installation day the foreman and his crew promptly showed up and politely introduced themselves to Jon. The crew then quickly got to work unloading the truck while the foreman sat down with Jon to go over everything that was going to occur with his installation. The foeman made sure to answer all of Jon's questions one by one, answering them all in hopes to put Jon's mind at ease. The foreman and crew then installed the internal french drain and service port, stopping halfway through to show Jon the progress of the project. Jon was more than pleased with the final results of this project and couldn't have been happier to give Keystone Basement Systems a 5-star review.
