Internal French Drain
Challenge
Louis and Melissa were having problems with their basement getting moisture, so they hopped online and quickly found Keystone Basement Systems. Upon their call Keystone quickly made them an appointment for the very next day with field inspector Kelly Blackburn. Kelly arrived at their home and sat down with them to discuss the problem before heading out down to the basement to perform his detailed inspection. The inspection consisted of doing some necessary moisture tests as well as taking measurements and performing various other tasks to ensure the plan that he was generating was going to in fact be the thing that helps this home. The field inspector's plan was custom-made for this house and was indeed a great plan that Kelly was sure going to fix the problem. The plan involved installing an internal drainage system that also included a service port or aka cleanout. The plan also included adding some polyvinyl membrane called Tuff-Scrim to the walls, this was going to ensure that the moisture would not be able to penetrate the walls in their basement. Field inspector Kelly sat down once again with Louis and Melissa to go over everything and to answer any further questions they had. He also made sure to put their minds at ease by discussing the results of doing this project, and what could happen to their home if they chose not to move forward with this. Melissa and Louis were very eager to get this done, and so the field inspector returned to the office and scheduled their home for the installation part of this project.
Solution
Once installation day came the foreman and his crew went out to the home and politely introduced themselves before jumping to work. The foreman sat down with Louis and Melissa to explain what was going to be taking place, one more time, and also scheduled a time mid-day to show them the progress of the project and answer any questions they might be having. The foreman and his crew then installed the internal drainage system with the service port attached. They then moved on to installing the membrane and then moved on to clean up. The foreman then returned to Melissa and Louis and explained everything that had been done. He took them downstairs to their basement to show them the final results and give them any of the information that they might need, like making sure they knew the service department's number. They need the service department's number for two reasons, 1 being case anything happens and they need help, and 2 is that they had gotten the 5-year service package and so they need to make sure to schedule those appointments with the service department. Both Melissa and Louis were thrilled with the entire process of this and made sure to give Keystone a 5-star review.
