Wet Basement repair in McKees Rocks, PA
Challenge
The owner of this home in McKees Rocks, PA was in need of basement repair. he noticed that the basement always had a damp, musty smell. he also thought that there might be mold in the basement. Keystone Basement Systems inspected the basement and determined that the relative humidity in the basement was very high. High humidity is a great environment for mold growth and should be treated right away. The inspector, Nick, also noticed that moisture was entering the basement in the form of water vapor through the concrete walls. Concrete is porous and was allowing moisture to get into the basement.
Solution
David, one of Keystone Basement Systems' foremen, and his crew installed over 100 feet of WaterGuard drainage system partnered with a TripleSafe pumping station.
The installation crew also installed a Sedona basement dehumidifier to keep this basement dry and prevent future mold growth. The homeowner had a dehumidifier previously, but it was a standard dehumidifier and not powerful enough to dry all of the air in this basement. The Sedona is the best basement dehumidification system available because it can filter particles out of the air to less than two microns in size, which is smaller than any mold spore or dust mite dropping! The SaniDry dries out the air in this basement and even dries out the building materials! The homeowner was thrilled with the new look and feel of his basement!
