To many downspouts draining into one 4 inch pipe
Challenge
Cherie called Keystone Basement Systems to help her with an issue of water getting into her basement. Keystone scheduled her for the very next day to sit down with one of their best field inspectors and go over the issue at hand. The field inspector arrived right on time, and as he was getting out of the car he noticed that there were quite a few downspouts leading into one little 4-inch pipe. The field inspector and Cherie sat down and went over her concerns and the field inspector learned right then and there how important this was to get fixed, due to the fact that Cherie expressed her concerns about her asthma getting worse. She stated that when the moisture started to get bad she noticed that so did her asthma and she couldn't breathe very well. The field inspector then quickly got to work performing all the proper moisture tests and taking very accurate measurements of everything. He then returned outside to look at that pipe he had noticed, finding that was a definite problem. The field inspector had come up with a fantastic plan to get this house dry again and help Cherie so that her asthma would not worsen, or she wouldn't have any further health issues or even structural damages to her home. Once hearing the plan that the field inspector came up with Cherie was very pleased and already felt a tad bit more at ease. The plan consisted of installing 2 sump pumps, an internal drainage system with a service port, as well as a new buried discharge line to tie the new downspouts into. The last thing that needed to be done was to install a new speedy drain and spray the inside of the basement with an anti-microbial spray, this was going to help kill any mold that was there.
Solution
The field inspector quickly returned to the office to get this project scheduled for installation. The installation was scheduled for just a short time away, which also made the homeowner very happy. On the day of installation, the foreman and his crew then arrived and introduced themselves to the homeowner before getting right to work. The crew jumped right into unloading the truck while the foreman sat down with Cherie to talk about what was going to take place and to schedule a mid-day check-in time with her to make sure she was comfortable or to go over any questions she may have. The foreman and crew then quickly got to work installing the buried discharge line and the speedy drain. They then moved on to the new downspouts and an extension for one of them that they had found needed it along the way. The crew then moved inside to install the 2 sump pumps and the internal french drain with its service port, or aka cleanout. The crew then sprayed the anti-microbial spray on the walls and quickly cleaned up their mess. The foeman then returned to Cherie to go over the products installed and to give her the service department's phone number, so that she could schedule her annual maintenance and also if she needed anything to be looked at or fixed. Cherie was extremely pleased with the final results, as well as the entire process and how quickly and professionally it had been done. Cherie was so please that she went to their website and left Keystone a great 5-star review and even gave them a referral!
