Getting 2 sump pumps after being deployed with the Navy and coming home to a wet basement.
Challenge
Mike was in the Navy and had been deployed for a few years, when he was able to return home he noticed that his basement was getting wet and there were cracks in the walls. This upset him because his wife was suffering through this situation because she couldn't get ahold of the company that had previously installed a sump pump, that stopped working, in one corner of her basement, and when Mike reached out to them they scheduled an appointment that they never even showed up for. Keystone knew that they had to get out to these poor folks as soon as possible, so they scheduled an appointment with field inspector Jeff for the very next day. Upon arrival for his appointment, Jeff was greeted by both Mike and his wife Vanessa, they then sat down and had an in-depth conversation about the problem area, this is where Jeff learned about Vanessa having to severe asthma that Mike was concerned about. They both knew that moisture led to mold and she did NOT need that in her life. The field inspector wrapped up the conversation and then got right to work conducting his very detailed inspection. The inspection that was conducted for this issue was very thorough and detailed, as it needed to be for it to come up with a custom fit plan for a custom problem, you see no two issues are ever the exact same because water will seek out the path of least resistance and that path is not the same for every home. The plan was to include an internal drainage system as well as a clean-out for annual maintenance. The plan was also to include 2 single action sump pumps and the removal of one broken system from the other company. The field inspector made sure to meet with the homeowners to go over the plan before going back to the office to put it on the schedule.
Solution
Upon the day of installation, the foreman and his crew promptly showed up for their appointment and got right to work. The foreman met with the homeowners to go over everything that was going to be taking place that day, as well as making sure if they needed anything to please feel free to ask. The foreman and his crew then installed the internal drainage system as well the clean out, the first single pump and then removed the old broken one, and installed the new one. They then pointed the cracks in the walls and installed some CleanSpace. The CleanSpace was not on the plan however the foreman thought it was going to be a huge help and so he had gotten approval for it from the supervisor. The foreman and his crew wrapped up this project and made sure that they cleaned up their mess and the area that they had been working in. The foreman then met with the homeowner to go over the entire process and give him the service department's phone number, so that they could schedule their annual maintenance. Mike and Vanessa were extremely happy with the final results and have had a dry basement since then.
