The homeowners called in to Keystone Basement Systems to help figure out a solution to the wet floors and walls they were having. Keystone then sent out field inspector Brian McWhirter to inspect the problem areas, come up with a plan to fix it, and sit down with the homeowner to explain it to them. Which he did and his plan was brilliant and used such great products such as a 110 foot Internal French Drain. This might surprise you, but French drains don't originate from France at all! In fact, the concept was designed by Henry Flagg French in Massachusetts in the mid-1800s. A French drain is not a specific item per se, but rather a name for the space between a basement wall and the concrete slab that allows water to drain outside of the home rather than pool on the floor. Brian also included 4 extra cleanouts and a 3 foot Speedy Drain.
Chris Bailey spearheaded this project from the beginning. This was a finished area that was taking on water. Our initial visit is a visual, non-destructive inspection. This is where you need a pro. Rather than ripping down walls to see what is going on, we use infrared imaging, hygrometers, moisture detection equipment, etc. Without any impact to the basement, we found out what area was leaking and designed a system to address the deficiencies. After impressing the client we earned their business.
David Cain, Sr. was the project foreman assigned to this project. He was matched because of his ability to perform intrusive work with little permanent impact. WaterGuard was installed and the basement was permanently protected and under warranty.
The customer was very pleased and gave us a nice review. We did, however, get a call from the client. After promptly sending out a service technician we found that it was a matter of condensation and not water intrusion. Dehumidification was added to resolve the matter.
